VORALUK KLASUKON

SCREENWRITER AND LECTURER

About Me

I started to pursue a career in writing after graduating from California State University, Los Angeles with a Master of Arts in Communication Studies (Telecommunications and Film Option). I had worked as a television producer, a writer of travel magazines, a scriptwriter of several T.V. shows, and a screenwriter.

My first movie, “First Love” (also known as “Crazy Little Thing called Love” and “A Little Thing Called Love”), which I worked as a main writer, was an immediate success in Thailand and Asia in 2010. After that I became a full-time screenwriter and continued to work on several projects, for example, My Best Bodyguard (2010), 30+Single on Sales (2011) and The Melody (2012). Since 2011, I have taught screenwriting as well as film-related courses at the Department of Film and Digital Media at Dhurakij Pundit University, Bangkok, Thailand.

Currently, I’m a PhD student in Communication Studies at Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication, Thammasat University, Bangkok, Thailand. My thesis is about Thainess, glocalization and cultural hybridization in Netflix Original Thai Series. My interests revolve around film industry and communication studies.
